More Items Added to Silent Auction

Greetings silent auction bidders!  As of this posting we have over 135 items for your shopping pleasure.  Fall Fiesta is a great place to find holiday gifts, plus you'll be helping Monte del Sol students travel to Oaxaca or Tokyo.  Fantastic deals always abound at this much anticipated event.

The Framed Art preview has just been updated.  There are also over a dozen gift certificates from local restaurants and massage therapists, books and other goodies that didn't make it into the previews.

Bring your friends and family, enjoy good food, entertainment, fun and games -- we'll see you there!

Blood Drive Reminder - October 15

Monte del Sol's chapter of the National Honor Society will be sponsoring the school's first-ever Blood Drive. United Blood Services will bring their Bloodmobile to our parking lot on Thursday, October 15, from 10-2. We will try to schedule appointments to minimize waiting times, so look for more information about signing up to come later. Otherwise, just show up and we'll accommodate you! Silent Auction Previews Updated

Many of the items donated to the Fall Fiesta silent auction are ready for preview.  Click the links on the left under "Fall Fiesta 2009" to see slideshows of furniture, framed art, jewelry and clothing.  To get back to the PTA blog page, simply click the "Back" button on your browser.

Lots more will be available in the Gathering Space at Monte del Sol on October 3, starting at noon.  Cash and checks will be accepted.  Be sure to join us!

Governing Board-Foundation Board-Faculty BBQ

Governing Board president Ken Joseph arranged this first-ever get together for faculty, governing and foundation boards to kick off the 2009-10 school year and welcome new head learner Angela Ritchie to the fold. The happy, hungry crowd feasted on BBQ'd chicken and grilled veggie tacos along with many side dishes and desserts. Thanks Ken, for being the chef! Richard Moeller also brought a slab of salmon that he had just smoked that day (doesn't it look dee-lish?). We were eating good in the neighborhood, enjoying a few hours of getting to know each other away from the usual settings of school and meetings. Group Shelter 1 in Hyde Park was the perfect place on this cool September 11 afternoon to relax and share stories. Nat'l Honor Society Announces Blood Drive at Monte

The MdS National Honor Society invites everyone to give blood on Thursday, October 15.  United Blood Services will be in the school parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Appointments are recommended.  Please contact Amy Schroth at 438-4254 or aschroth@montedelsol.org.  Thank you for giving!

How to Find the Auction Preview

A few people have mentioned that they weren't able to find the auction preview page, so here are better instructions.

On this page, look at the left side menu under "Useful Links".  Click on "PTA Documents".  This will take you to our Google documents site.

Once there, look at the left side menu again and click on "Fall Fiesta 2009 Auction Preview".  This will open the document that contains pictures and allow you to page through.  If you have problems navigating to it or opening it, please email mdsptaprez@gmail.com.

Want to bid on a large item but not sure how you'll get it home?  Our friends at Mountain Moving and Storage here in Santa Fe will deliver it to you for only $75 within a 20-mile radius of Monte del Sol.  If you live outside that radius, give them a call at 505-471-9000 to make arrangements.

Silent Auction Preview is Here!

Fall Fiesta 2009 promises to be a good one.  Our first planning meeting was held on August 29, and the next one will be Tuesday, September 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the Gathering Space.  Please consider attending as we still need volunteers to man game booths and donate baked goods for the cake walk and desserts.  We have started collecting items for silent auction -- everything from gift certificates, art, clothing, furniture, jewelry, and accessories.  More donations are welcome.

As promised . . . a preview of silent auction items is now available.  Check it out under "Useful Links" on the left.  Send the link to your friends, family and co-workers.  We'd love for them to come -- the more the merrier to help our students go to Tokyo and Oaxaca!
